Olympic Cycling Time Trials
Olympic Road Cycling returned to Surrey just a few days after the Road Race events with a solo race – the Time Trial. Once again, large crowds gathered on the streets of Elmbridge to cheer on Bradley Wiggins to a gold medal. A bronze medal was also won by Team GB’s Chris Froome.

Olympic Cycling Time Trial route
The Olympic Cycling Time Trial started at Hampton Court Palace before crossing Hampton Court Bridge and entering the Surrey borough of Elmbridge. Crowds cheered on the cyclists as they passed Surrey’s streets in Molesey, Walton, Hersham, Whitley, Cobham and Esher.
The race then returned to London and passed through the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and Richmond upon Thames before finishing at Hampton Court Palace.
